One-Pan Garlicky Shrimp & Rice

One-Pan Garlicky Shrimp & Rice is a simple and flavorful dish that is easy to prepare and perfect for a quick weeknight meal. The dish typically involves cooking shrimp and rice together in one pan, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.


1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons Fondo Gionino Extra Virgin Olive Oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, finely chopped
1 bell pepper, diced
1 cup long-grain white rice
2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish


Step 1

Heat Fondo Gionino Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a large skillet or pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 2

Add the chopped onion and diced bell pepper to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the rice and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the rice to lightly toast.

Step 3

Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, then add the paprika, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.

Step 4

Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the rice is almost cooked through and most of the liquid has been absorbed.

Step 5

Once the rice is almost cooked, add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet. Stir the shrimp into the rice mixture, cover, and continue cooking for another 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

Step 6

Once the shrimp are cooked and the rice is tender, remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
